PARIS - LE MARAIS
General description
Renovation of the Voysin private mansion (17th century) - The Marais district
First of all, some history… In the 18th century, the Voysin private mansion is reshaped : uncluttered style and sober architecture in adequation with the Age of the Enlightenment. It was in this period the residence of State’s important persons. In the 19th century, the Voysin private mansion is transformed into workshops: a beautiful industrial building is built on a part of the gardens. In the 20th century, it is deserted little by little, until its resumption in 2011 by Histoire et Patrimoine. The renovation project entrusted to the architect Bertrand Monchecourt plans to refind the spirit of the original mansion, between courtyard and garden.
Important works will be undertaken exterior as well as interior :
- renovation of the formal garden,
- restoration of the dressed stone facades,
- restoration of the slate Mansard style roofs,
- ground floor in natural stones,
- solid oak flooring,
- wood joineries in the ancient parts of the mansion (17th century),
- metal joineries in lofts in the industrial side of the building,
- central heating with individual programming,
- elevator,
- automatic lighting in the common parts with presence detectors,
- building entrance with videophone,
- …
